Yesterday morning I interviewed for a teaching assistant position. This morning they called me and offered me the job! :) I will be working in an infant and toddler classroom. It’s a full time position, but only 32 hours a week. This means that I get benifits, and can pick up a part time job to make up the hours and get extra money.Â
It sounds like a really neat program. The center also works with the areas Head Start and Birth to 3 programs. This means that there are a few children with special needs (right up my ally) and when a child turns 3 s/he can make a smooth transition into the 3 to 5 year-old program. Because of the collaberation with the Birth to 3 program, this may give me the chance to get my foot in the door and possibly a future job as an in-home educator with them.Â
Tuesday I go in for orientation stuff, and I suspect I will start the new job by the end of next week. :)
