The last time I spent a weekend at home was Memorial Day Weekend. My sisters, Aimee and Jenna, came down and visited me. We went to a movie, spent time on State St., and just hung out and talked. It was really cool! We’ve desided to turn it into an annual event. :)
June 2-4
I had Friday June 2nd off so I headed to Point on Thursday night to hang out with people. Friday I did some random errons in Point before heading to Menomonie for Aimee’s last high school band performance. It was a wonderful evening of music and family. Both Jenna and Brent were able to join Mom, Dad, and me for the concert. After the concert Aimee went to hang out with friends, Jenna and Brent had to head home, so Mom, Dad and I went out for dinner. It was really nice to spend time visiting with both of them.
After dinner I headed back to Point. Steve, Liza and the kids were in town for the weekend and Andy said he would help me find a new DVD player. I spent the rest of the weekend with friends and found a new DVD player!
June 10-11
Back to Menomonie for Aimee’s high school graduation. It seems like just the other day Aimee was the little girl in a jean skirt that didn’t quite fit, because she was so little. And now she’s all grown up. I am so proud of her! She is such a smart, fun, confident, beautiful young woman. :)
June 16-17
And I’m back in Menomonie, this time for Father’s Day and the 2006 Drums Along the Red Cedar Drum and Bugel Corps show. Since the drum show was on Sunday, we did our Father’s day stuff on Saturday. Dad really wanted toe see cars, so Aimee, Jenna and I took both Dad and Mom to the movie. And the movie was great! We all loved it, especially Dad. After the movie, Dad said that he wanted to see it again! I think this is the first time I have ever heard him say that before. After the movie, we went back home to give Dad his gift, a picnic basket filled with cool stuff to use when grilling out. Which he also loved!
Sunday was the drum show, which as always, was amazing! I wanted to take pictures, but DCI requested that pictures and such were not taken. So, I only have the pictures in my head.
This coming weekend I get to stay in my very own apartment. :) Manda is coming down to visit and we’re going to do silly girly things!
Last Friday night I was walking through the grocery store when my cell phone rang. It was Andy, he was on his way down to see me before we went to Milwaukee the next day for Steve’s graduation party. Our conversation went something like this:
               Me: “Hey, where are you?”
Andy: “In the middle of nowhere. My car stopped working?”
Me: “Did you run out of gas?”
               Andy: “No it just stopped.?
Me: “Oh, do you want me to come get you?”
Andy: “Probably. . . I’m between Point and Portage.”
Me: OK, I have to drop my groceries at home and then I’ll head out. It will be about an hour.”
Andy: “That should work. I’ll call you when I know where I’m getting it towed.”
Me: “Ok, see you in a bit.”
It turned out that Andy was just outside of Westfield. So, that’s were I picked him up. After chatting with the mechanic for a bit we headed back to my place. The next morning we hit State St. on the way to Milwaukee to pick up graduation cards. Sat. was a wonderful day for a party in the park. It was a bit windy and a bit cloudy and a bit warm, but never too much of anything at one time.Â
Since Andy knew he was going to be in Madison until at least the middle of the week, he figured this would be a great time to visit with his relatives in town. Sunday was a lovely walk in the woods, dinner, and Trivial Pursuit with Jim, Peg and thier 2 kids. Monday was dinner and wonderful conversation with Lavonne, Mike and their 2 youngest boys. And Tuesday was dinner and wonderful conversation with Sue and Bill.  Andy and I also went out and did some exploring of Madison. Which I found really helpful, since I haven’t had much of a chance to do much exploring and Andy is much more familiar with Madison than I am. And on Friday, I got home from work and took Andy to his car.
It really was a wonderful week. As much as I enjoy living alone, I really enjoyed having the company. It was nice to get home from work and have someone to talk to. . . But, now that I have the internet again, I can IM people. Not quite the same as face-to-face or phone conversations, but it’s something.Â
As you may have noticed, I haven’t updated in a very long time. Well, that’s because lots has been happening in my life. . . And at the moment, I don’t have regular access to the internet. However, that will change soon.
I have a new job and am now living in Madison! And I love it! My apartment is wonderful, soooooo much nicer than the last one I was living in. I’m on the first floor and from my patio door I have a view of the pond (with ducks) that is part of my apartment complex. It really is wonderful.Â
My job is wonderful too. I am a regional teacher for La Petite Academy. Which means I travel between 5 different centers depending on where I am needed, working with children 6 weeks through pre-school. I am finding that I really like the challenge and change of working with the staff and children at the different centers. And everytime I have talked to my regional director I have been told that she has been hearing nothing but good things about me! This is the first time that LPA has had regional teachers so I am able to develope a job discription as I go and give ideas of what needs to be done to my regional director. I am really glad for this opportunity.
I know there is so much more that has happened since my last entry. . . A job in Point, The Move (which went very smoothly, thank you to all who helped), Trivia, Unpacking, a Trip to Point, Easter (I helped friends plant trees), Visits from friends, and now Mother’s Day! I’ve been a busy girl and will continue to be one.Â
While visiting my parents this weekend my mom and I stopped at a furniture store. I need a table and chairs for my apartment and wouldn’t mind a new couch and chair for the living room. Well, I didn’t find a table and chairs that I liked, but I did fall in love with a couch and chair for my living room. The only problem is, after being unemployed for so long, I really can’t afford them. But they would be so perfect, I can picture them in my living room. . . I felt very adult sitting there talking to the salesman. I’ll have to start saving and looking in Madison, because it would be much easier to get stuff delivered locally.

I think I need to make more out west trips. . .
Also, I’m moving to Madison. It was a hard desion, harder than I thought it would be, but I’m pretty sure I’ve made the right choice. :)
