So Much to Tell

It’s been almost three months since I last updated. I’ve come here often enough and thought to myself that I should really make a post or two, or 10. But then I didn’t. I’m really not sure why, mybe it’s because I was so exhausted from student teaching. Being around 44 three to five year olds for 7 hours a day tends to take a lot out of you. Or maybe it’s because I was so stressed out from preparing to graduate. :)

That’s right I have graduated! After 6 and 1/2 years I have my bachelor’s degree. Shortly, I will have my teaching licence in Early Childhood Special Education. I’m pretty proud of myself. I’m excited to start the next chapter of my life and at the same time it terrifies me just a bit. I used to know what was happening next in my life. The school year would end and I knew that in the fall I would start classes again. But this year I’m really not sure what fall will bring. I’m hoping that it brings a wonderful teaching job for me. And if it doesn’t I hope that I can find something that is at least remotely related to teaching. I’ve already decided that if it comes down to it I am not above applying for teaching aide postitions. I know I am over qualified for them, but I would rather be in a classroom, even in an aide position, than working some high school job. I also know that if nothing else I can substitute teach in the fall. However, if that ends up being the case, I’ll have to get another job. . .

In other news, I have a summer school teaching position! I start next week and it goes to the middle of July. I am very excited to start. I think that this will be a great way for me to really get my feet wet teaching and to really figure out what I need to work on as a teacher. I know that student teaching is supposed to prepare you for teaching. And I think that my student teaching experiance did a pretty good job of doing that. However, I also know that having a classroom of your very own is different than a student teaching assignment. I know that I can do this. :)

Hmmm. . . I’m sure there are other things that have happened since my last post. I know that I’ve posted more pictures to my gallery site and I have still more to post. One of the things that happened was Trivia 36. Which was filled with lots of fun, very little sleep, and the Thanksgiving Pack of Jones Soda. All I have to say about the soda is DO NOT mix the flavors. Even thinking about it now it makes my tummy all flip-floppy.

I think that’s it for now. I’m hoping that now that I have a bit more time on my hands I will be able to keep up with my postings. However, that could not happen too. Soon I’ll be teaching, and I’m still job searching. Hopefully there will be some interviews soon and at least one will result in a job offer. *crosses fingers*
